Day after Haryana INLD chief Nafe Singh Rathee was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Bahadurgarh town, his kin on Monday persuaded to get the postmortem done.

They have said the cremation would be performed in Bahadurgarh at 5 pm on Monday. The body of Nafe Singh Rathee was kept at the mortuary of Civil Hospital in Bahadurgarh.

Meanwhile, INLD leader Abhay Chautala, who joined the dharna outside the Civil Hospital in Bahadurgarh along with other party leaders, said they have full faith in Haryana Police but cannot rely upon government as “it is a political murder”.

Slamming the BJP-led state government for failing to provide security to the deceased leader, Chautala demanded the resignation of CM Manohar Lal Khattar.

“Khattar should resign if he cannot ensure safety of political leaders and common man”, he said.

Chautala further claimed that instead of the accused being arrested in the case, their security has been enhanced. “Those named in the FIR have not been questioned by the police,” he maintained.

He alleged that the criminals were professionals and termed it a contract killing.

Condemning Home Minister Anil Vij’s remark that a political FIR got booked in the case by the kin, Abhay Chautala said, “On the one hand, Vij is describing Nafe Singh Rathee as his friend, while on the other hand, he has enhanced the security of those named in the FIR.”

“Home Minister should be ashamed on this statement,” he added.

He said further course of action would be decided after consultation with Rathee’s kin and party workers.

Meanwhile, Jhajjar SP Arpit Jain denied any arrest in the case so far. He said that they have got vital leads and some suspects were also rounded up for questioning.
