  • The project, estimated at a total cost of Rs 10,000 crore, is currently planned to link Dwarka Sector 21 to NH-8, traversing through Gurugram Sectors 88, 84, 83, and 99-113, including the proposed Global City, before reaching NH-8 just before the Kherki Daula toll plaza

NHAI officials said the inauguration was expected to take place in February-end or March first week.

Sources in the Ministry of Transport said while the Haryana Government wanted it to be done along with AIIMS-Rewari and Gurugram Metro, the Transport Ministry wanted it to be done along with a section of Delhi part of the Dwarka Expressway, which will be ready later this month.

“While the Haryana leg of the expressway is ready, we are waiting for the Delhi leg to be completed, a tunnel of which will be completed by the end of this month. We plan to inaugurate the stretch together. As of now, we expect the PM to visit and inaugurate this stretch by way of a road show,” said the officials of Transport Ministry.

“Like the AIIMS and Metro, the Dwarka Expressway is a long-pending demand of the people of Gurugram. PM Modi will dedicate it to the people. We do not know on which date it will be inaugurated but it is expected to be later this month,” said Union Minister of State and Gurugram MP Rao Inderjit Singh.

DC Nishant Kumar Yadav did not confirm the date of inauguration, the administration was busy giving final touches to the stretch like installing streetlights, tiles, and thermoplastic road markings. It is expected to be completed within 15 days.
