Haryana releases Rs 1.45 cr fodder aid to 6 Rohtak gaushalas

Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goel reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting cattle, stating that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has initiated a special grant scheme to provide fodder assistance to all registered gaushalas in the state.

The minister on Thursday distributed cheques worth Rs 1.45 crore at the UT Guest House, Chandigarh, for six gaushalas in Rohtak district.

Goel said that along with government efforts, several social and religious organisations are also stepping forward to support the care of stray cattle. He highlighted that the budget of the Haryana Gau Seva Aayog has been significantly increased. The government is taking concrete steps to make gaushalas self-reliant with many already performing commendably.

The minister further stated that the government has made arrangements to ensure there is no shortage of fodder for cattle even during the monsoon. The Revenue and Disaster Management Department has issued necessary precautionary guidelines to district administrations. “I am also reviewing the situation from time to time with the District Deputy Commissioners,” he added.

The cheques were distributed to Gaushala Khidwali, Haryana Pinjra Gaushala Gorakhnath Tirth, Lawaris Pidit Pashu Seva Sangh, Jan Sewa Sansthan, Vaishya Vyayamshala Avm Gaushala and Baba Mastnath Pidit Bimar Lawaris Gaushala, Bohar.
