Haryana has stepped up its fight against cybercrime with the rollout of the Central Cyber Reporting Portal and the National Cyber Crime Helpline number 1930. The initiative, aimed at ensuring quick complaint registration and faster police response, was announced by Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Sumita Misra, here today.

“Now citizens can also report incidents of cyber fraud, financial scams, identity theft and online harassment through the portal or by calling the helpline number 1930,” Misra said.

She said the Home Department has issued comprehensive cyber security directives to create a robust digital safety ecosystem across government departments and citizen services. A six-point action plan has been drawn up for immediate implementation across the state.

Under the new framework all digital literacy programmes and public awareness campaigns at state and district levels will incorporate cyber security modules.

Citizens will get verified updates via the ‘Cyber Dost’ social media handles, actively promoted by the Home Ministry’s cyber security wing.

Information about the helpline number 1930 and cyber reporting portal will be prominently displayed at police stations, government offices, public information centres, and other facilities.

Cyber safety awareness will be integrated into all state government schemes, ensuring beneficiaries receive consistent guidance on digital safety.

Schools, teacher training programmes and higher education institutions will be mandated to include cyber security topics in their curriculum.

Misra stressed that local administrative officials, community leaders and educational institutions will work together to raise awareness at the grassroots level.

“Citizens should promptly report cybercrimes to improve chances of recovery and action against offenders,” she emphasised.
