Haryana Agricultural University entrance examination
Hisar: Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (HAU) is all set to organise the entrance examination for the admission to the courses of BSc agriculture six-year course, bachelor of fisheries science (BFSc) four-year course, MSc agriculture, MTech agricultural engineering and MSc home science on July 31. Vice-Chancellor Prof BR Kamboj said 4,775 candidates had applied for admission in the above courses. The controller of examination of the university, Dr Pawan Kumar said the candidates had to download and bring their admit card along with them.
Seven new courses in Jind varsity
Jind: Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, Jind, has introduced seven new courses in the university from this academic session. The academic council of the university has given approval for the courses. The Vice-Chancellor, Dr Ranpal Singh, said the admission process for the next academic session would start from August 1 online. He said there would be four- year BBA and BCom honours courses under the new Education Policy 2020. Prof Lavleen Mohan said there would be 50 seats in MA political science and Hindi each, 30 seats each in MSc geology, MSc botany and LLM.
Plantation drive to save nature
Bhiwani: The Vice-Chancellor of Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani, Prof Rajkumar Mittal, said environmental protection was very important to save life on earth and it was the cornerstone of human life. During a plantation drive organised by the department of chemistry, the VC said human beings unnecessarily exploited natural resources. One should live and be friendly with nature by planting more and more trees.
Engineering dept gets nod for courses
Gurugram: The All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, has given its approval to all courses offered by Gurugram University’s department of engineering and Technology, informed Vice Chancellor Prof Dinesh Kumar.
Ashoka varsity to host summit
Sonepat: The office of learning support (OLS) at Ashoka University will host a virtual summit titled ‘Inclusion in higher education: Leadership summit’ on August 5, from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm. It will focus on the inclusion of students with disabilities in higher education. It aims to start a conversation around best inclusive practices and promote collaboration with like-minded institutions that aspire to put inclusion at the forefront of their academic and campus activities.
Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrated
Kurukshetra: A special assembly was organised at Gurukul, Kurukshetra, to commemorate the 23rd Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. Students and staff paid rich tributes to the Martyrs of Kargil War for the grit, determination and supreme sacrifices made by them beyond the call of their duty to safeguard the territorial integrity and safety of the nation. Students recreated the saga of valour of the Defence forces displayed in this war through patriotic songs, poems and speeches. Col Arun Datta Director of Gurukul, Kurukshetra, exhorted the students to imbibe the values of loyalty and service to the nation as a way of life to make India strong and a powerful nation. Every citizen of the country is expected to become a soldier of the nation by doing his duty honestly and in the spirit of service to the nation and fellow citizens.
