The Agriculture College of the Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (HAU) organised the National Service Scheme (NSS) award distribution ceremony here today.

Vice-Chancellor BR Kamboj gave away prizes to 19 volunteers, including two programme officers who did excellent work in NSS. The volunteers who received awards included Chetan, Aman Kumar, Ruchika and Anjali for the year 2020-2021, Chandrashekhar (Programme Officer) and volunteers Sunaina Rani, Rahul, Neha Yadav, Meenakshi, Chetan Singh, Yashpal, Manish, Muskan and Urvashi for the year 2021-22. Programme Officer Rinku Poonia, along with Muskan, Utsav, Sunil, Annu, Jagat Pal and Vedika Dhingra were given awards for the year 2022-23. The VC also gave consolation certificates to 35 NSS volunteers.

Addressing the volunteers at the function, the Vice-Chancellor said that participation in various activities improves the personality of the students. He said the volunteers should concentrate on expanding their thinking, education and research. He added that to be successful in any field, one must inculcate qualities like passion, dedication towards work, honesty, and dutifulness in them. Director of Student Welfare ML Khichar applauded the volunteers for their efforts.
