Health services in state on ventilator: Hooda
A former CM, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, today expressed concern over the healthcare in the state and said health services were on ventilator as there was neither medicines nor doctors in hospitals.
Reacting to the shortage of doctors in Bhiwani, he said there were 207 sanctioned posts of doctor in the district, but half of them were lying vacant. The situation was the same in the entire state.
Hooda said about 20,000 posts were lying vacant in health services, and there was a shortage of 14,000 doctors in the state. “About 94 per cent posts of specialist doctor are lying vacant in villages. Due to lack of staff and facilities, the lives of thousands of patients are put at risk, every day,” he said.
According to WHO guidelines, there should be one doctor for every thousand people, but in Haryana, there was one doctor for 2,035 people.
“Not only has the government looted crores of rupees of public money, but also has played with the lives of people. This has been revealed in the latest CAG report,” he said.
