HHRC seeks report on deaths in mishap

The Haryana Human Rights Commission (HHRC) has issued a notice to the Chief Administrator, HSVP, and Commissioner of Police, Faridabad, in connection with the death of two HSVP employees on December 5 in a road mishap caused due to alleged negligence on part of the HSVP.
The accident took place when a car hit a pit on the bypass near Sector 64 and hit the victims riding a motorcycle. The pit had been dug for laying a pipe for sewage by a contractor. Taking suo motu cognisance of a news report, the HHRC asked the authorities to submit a reply within eight weeks.
“Keeping in view the serious nature of the accident leading to death of two persons and injuries to three others, the HHRC seeks a report from the authorities concerned,” read the order issued on Monday.
Mukesh (26) and Rahul (22), employed with the HSVP office here, were killed after a car hit the motorcycle they were riding back home from work. The accident, which took place around 7:30 pm, took place when a Wagon- R hit a Swift and the motorcycle after bumped off the pit.
While three persons travelling in the Swift got seriously injured, Mukesh and Rahul died on the spot. The cause of the accident was a pit left uncovered by the contractor who had dug up a part of the road for laying a pipe for sewage.
