Hisar man found dead in hotel at McLeodganj
A tourist from Haryana has allegedly died under mysterious circumstances in the tourist city of McLeodganj in Kangra district, police said on Tuesday.
He was found unconscious in his hotel room, lying face down on the bed.
The deceased has been identified as Gaurav Gautam (age 38 years), a resident of Hisar, Haryana. The local police took the body into custody and sent it to the Zonal Hospital at Dharamsala for a post-mortem examination, which will be conducted later in the day.
His family members have been informed about the incident and are said to have arrived to take the body back.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Gaurav had come to McLeodganj as a tourist and had been staying there since July 30 of this year. It has come to light that the family members were calling him on his mobile phone to return home, but the deceased told them that he was not feeling well; therefore, it would take a few days for him to return home.
The hotel staff found him dead in his room and informed the local police about the incident.
When the police reached the spot, they found bloodstains oozing from his nose, besides stains of an unknown liquid.
He was rushed to the Zonal Hospital at Dharamsala, but the doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Further investigations are in progress.
