Hisar SDM bans jeans at govt offices
Hisar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Jyoti Mittal on Tuesday issued orders prohibiting employees from wearing jeans at the office.
The orders specify that all officers and employees working in the SDM office, Hisar, must wear formal dress during duty hours. “Jeans and similar attire are prohibited. Class IV employees must adhere to their prescribed uniforms. Strict compliance with these orders is expected,” it read.
The move is apparently aimed at maintaining professionalism and discipline in government offices.
Her directive is reminiscent of similar steps taken earlier by IAS officer Vaishali Sharma, who, as the Hisar MC Commissioner, had banned jeans at the MC office four months ago.
Before serving as the SDM in Hisar, Mittal has been the SDM of Israna, City Magistrate of Rohtak, Additional CEO of Zila Parishad in Hisar, SDM of Kharkhoda and Guhla Cheeka. She was also the first woman Secretary of the Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) Bhiwani, and Joint Director in the Medical Education Research Department, Panchkula.
Soon after taking charge, Mittal attended a grievance redressal camp, listening to the public’s concerns.
