Hisar teen scores perfect 100 in JEE Mains

Divyanshu Agarwal (18) of Hisar is among the nine students who have scored a perfect 100 in the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Mains, the results of which were announced on Friday evening.
A student of Shree Ram Ideal School in Hisar, Divyanshu is the son of Dr Adarsh Agarwal and Dr Reena Jain. He said he had opted for engineering out of his love for mathematics.
“I have been good in mathematics from the beginning. I want to pursue computer engineering. My parents are supportive of the decision and have encouraged me to opt for non-medical studies. I was expecting a good score in the mains,” he said.
He said he had set his eyes on the JEE Advanced, which would be held in May, for admission to IITs. “It has a slightly different pattern, which requires thorough study and a lot of hard work. I have started preparing for it,” he said.
Divyanshu devoted seven to eight hours a day to studies. “I play badminton and do yoga for relaxation. I do not have fixed study hours,” he said. After matriculation from Om Prakash Jindal Modern School, he had decided to shift to another school to focus on coaching for the JEE examinations.
