Hisar: Guru Jambheshwar University, German institute sign MoU

Hisar: A memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar (GJUST), and Institute of Materials in Electrical Engineering 1 (IWE1), RWTH Aachen University, Germany. Vice-Chancellor Narsi Ram Bishnoi signed the MoU on behalf of GJUST and Director Sven Ingebrandt signed the MoU on behalf of the Institute of Medical in Electrical Engineering 1. The V-C said the Institute of Medical in Electrical Engineering 1 will provide technical support to establish the centre for bioeconomy and sustainability at GJUST. The MoU will be beneficial for students, scholars and teachers of the university. Both the institutions will cooperate and focus their efforts on cooperation within the area of skill-based training, education and research. It also recognises the mutual interest in the field of research, development, education, training, transfer technology and dissemination of knowledge. It will also recognise the importance of institutes of higher education in promoting methods and techniques for science and technology, increasing the contribution of research and development.

Induction programme at MDU

Rohtak: The inaugural session of the four-day induction programme for the newly admitted students of the four and five year integrated undergraduate programmes was held at the Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) in Rohtak. Vice-Chancellor Rajbir Singh said the real purpose of education is not merely to get a degree, or a job, but to utilise the education for societal development, community upliftment, nation building and welfare of mankind. He exhorted the students to participate in various capacity building programmes, outreach activities, as well as sports. He emphasised the importance of physical health and well-being in his address. Registrar Gulshan Lal Taneja said the formula of success in career and life was dependent on one’s ability, multiplied by efforts and attitude. Earlier, CCPC Director Divya Malhan delivered the welcome address and chief warden (girls) Sapna Garg expressed the vote of thanks.

Students apprised of exam aspects

Yamunanagar: During the student induction programme of Maharaja Agrasen Mahavidyalaya, Jagadhri, new entrants to the college were acquainted with examination system —procedures and regulations of the affiliating Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. Controller of Examination and Co-ordinator IQAC, the organiser of the event, Dr Anita Dhingra, familiarised students with different aspects related to external and internal assessment carried out by the university and college, respectively.

18 students get science scholarship

Karnal: Eighteen students of the Sanskrit Department of RKSD College,Kaithal, have been selected for scholarships by the National Institute of Sciences, New Delhi. As per the policy of the Central Government, students getting merit in science are given scholarships by National Institute of Sciences. This year, 18 students of the college have been selected. Principal Sanjay Goyal congratulated the students and said it is a matter of great pride for the college that the Sanskrit Department inspired students towards the ancient knowledge tradition. Wishing the students a bright future, Head of the Department Vinay Singhal and Professor Deepak Sharma congratulated the students.
