Following the threat e-mail, the district administration and the police department swung into action and the DC office was checked. However, no bomb or suspicious object was found during the checking by the bomb squad.

Ambala Deputy Commissioner Ajay Singh Tomer said, “Early in the morning, an e-mail was received in the official mail ID of the Deputy Commissioner, in which a threat was given to blow up the DC office, using an IED containing RDX. Prima facie, it appeared to be a hoax mail, but taking precautionary measures, the matter was handed over to the police department and the office was properly checked. A team of bomb squad and other teams have inspected the office and found nothing here. It was a hoax mail and the office is functioning in routine.”
