Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader and Dabwali MLA Aditya Devilal on Monday accused senior Congress leaders Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Deepender Hooda of attempting to sabotage the upcoming Rohtak rally to mark the 112th birth anniversary of former Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Devi Lal. However, former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda dismissed the allegations as “nonsense”, saying, “How would I know who is with whom?”

Addressing the media at the INLD office in Sirsa, Aditya claimed that a man posing as his personal assistant had sought to malign the rally by offering money to gather crowds. “We found the man’s photos with Bhupinder and Deepender Hooda and have lodged a police complaint,” he alleged, adding that the Dabwali SP had assured action in the matter.

Aditya further alleged that the Congress had aided the BJP in forming the state government, branding them “modern-day traitors”. “The public never wanted a BJP-led government, yet certain Congress leaders struck secret deals. This is a betrayal of public sentiment,” he said.

When questioned on the choice of Rohtak as the rally venue, Aditya defended the decision, calling it a historical political hotspot. “Rohtak has always been a political epicentre. From here, Tau Devi Lal once changed the course of Indian politics,” he remarked. Denying charges that the event relied on money power, he said, “Our workers are poor but not corrupt. They work with passion, not money.”

Aditya extended an open invitation to all political workers and leaders aligned with Devi Lal’s ideology, regardless of party lines. “Even Abhay Chautala has said he will personally reach out to those who believe in Tau’s principles,” he said.

INLD sources revealed that prominent leaders, including former Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal, may attend the September 25 rally in Rohtak.

The Chautala family is celebrating Chaudhary Devi Lal’s birth anniversary in different ways and at different places. Abhay Chautala’s INLD and Ajay Chautala’s JJP are all holding separate events to mark the occasion.
