Belying the tall claims made by the Haryana Government regarding adequate measures in place to check cheating during the examinations, the Class XII English question paper was reportedly leaked in Nuh today.

The Class XII examinations of the Haryana board commenced today. The paper was leaked in the Nuh and Punhana areas within the first 30 minutes of the examination. Pictures of the question paper were shared on WhatsApp and soon “chit gangs” started preparing answer chits and threw these inside schools.

The local police have nabbed three persons in this connection. The process of registering an FIR was underway at the time of the filing of this report.

According to preliminary investigation, two invigilators and three students have been found responsible for the paper leak at Tapkan village in Nuh.

According to the police, the three students — Monish, Nafeesh and Mushtakin —showed the paper to members of the “chit gangs” through windows. They clicked pictures of the question paper and shared it on WhatsApp. Soon, answer chits were prepared and thrown inside the centre. Two invigilators — Rakmmudin and Saukat — reportedly turned a blind eye to the entire process.

Similarly, the paper was leaked at a centre in Punhana. Similar reports were received from Palwal too.

“We are in the process of filing an FIR against the accused. Special teams have been deputed to check cheating,” said a spokesperson for the Nuh police.

Nuh DC Vishram Kumar Meena said in a statement that the district had zero tolerance to cheating. The moment the issue came to light, the police were alerted, Meena said.

“We are working in close coordination with the police,” said Meena.

Meanwhile, the Congress slammed the BJP government in the state, saying it had failed to conduct even a singly examination with transparency.

“They promised to make Haryana number one, and I wholeheartedly congratulate CM Nayab Singh Saini for making the state number one in cheating. It was the first day of the board examinations and the so-called hi-tech security arrangements failed within 30 minutes,” said Congress MP Randeep Surjewala.
