Having registered a whooping participation of 5-lakh children in the online ‘Baal Mahotsav’ held by the state during the Covid crisis, Haryana has sought entry in the Guinness, Limca and Asian book of records.
The General Secretary, Haryana State Council for Child Welfare, Krishan Kumar Dhul, who was in Gurugram today, said the council had applied in all three places for this participation. Addressing the media, Dhul said amid the Covid pandemic last year, a state-level Bal Mahotsav was organised online in which about 5-lakh children had created history by active participation. In a month’s time, the celebration entries were invited online in 73 sections of 23 competitions. A total of 4,35,000 participation entries were received, in which 3.5 lakh were girls and 1.5 lakh boys.
“The online participation of such a large number of children in any one programme was truly a unique task and the State Child Welfare Council had made history. Not just for Haryana, but it was a first ever for the country and World. We are seeking to register name of our council in records books and we have applied for this”, added Krishan Kumar Dhul.
Divisional Child Welfare Officer Amarnath Narwal, District Child Welfare Officer Virender Yadav and Child Welfare Officer Saroj Malik were also present with Dhul.
