Vij revealed that a meeting chaired by Union Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari included representatives from various states to discuss road accidents and transport reforms. “Eighty per cent of road accidents are caused by human error, with driver fatigue being a significant factor,” he said.

To address this, Vij suggested constructing rest houses along highways where drivers can rest and access food. He added that Haryana Tourism is collaborating to improve food quality in public transport. “A study is being conducted to enhance catering services on the lines of the Railways,” he said.
