Identification of ‘aggressive’ protesters begins

After issuing repeated warnings, the Ambala police have started the process of identifying the aggressive protesters and writing to the regional passport offices recommending action against passport holders.
The police have reportedly shared pictures of about 100 protesters with the regional passport offices for identification and appropriate action. Some of them have been identified. With the help of drone cameras and CCTV cameras installed at the Shambhu border, the police had obtained pictures of aggressive protesters. They had also released videos, requesting the public to help in establishing their identity.
Ambala SP Jashandeep Singh Randhawa said, “The aggressive protesters were warned of action, including cancellation of passports. We have written to the regional passport offices concerned for appropriate action. Action is recommended to ensure that the person who is booked in a case doesn’t flee the country. Their photographs have been circulated and the authorities will check if they have passports, or documents are pending for verification.”
