'If there were jobs here, why would we send our son abroad?' asks father
The deportation of Aman, a youth from Atela village in Kaithal district, has hit his family hard — not just because of the financial loss, but the humiliating manner in which he was sent back.
Aman, who is the eldest among three siblings, and married, had left for the US around five months back in search of a better future. He spent Rs 35-40 lakh to chase his dream.
Teary-eyed, Aman's father Krishan, who is a farmer, questioned the way his son and others were treated. "It was inhumane. It is unbearable for us to even imagine it. They should have been returned in a dignified manner," he said.
Talking to 'The Tribune' over the phone, he highlighted the issue of unemployment. “If there were jobs here, why would we send our son abroad? The government has failed to provide employment,” he said, adding that, “We have lost money, time, and most importantly, our son’s dreams.”
