The Gurugram police have seized a pistol, cartridges and nearly two kgs of marijuana from a police residential flat in the Gurugram Police Lines. The flat was allotted to Exempted Assistant Sub-Inspector (EASI) Pokhar Ram and was raided following a complaint by his daughter-in-law. An FIR was registered at Civil Lines police station. According to the complaint filed by Meenu, daughter-in-law of EASI Pokhar Ram, her father-in-law was allegedly involved in the trade of marijuana and illegal weapons under the guise of being a police officer. She also accused her in-laws of dowry harassment, physical assault and an attempt to hang her.
A police team raided the flat in the presence of ACP City Vishnu Dayal.
“The case appears suspicious. The source of the drugs and weapons in the house remains under investigation. Further action will be taken only after verifying the facts,” said a spokesperson of the Gurugram Police.
