During the operation, DPCs, roads, interlock tile roads and demarcation boundaries were demolished using earthmoving machines by the department. The unauthorised colony was being set up over an area of 3.5 acres. The drive, which was a part of the government’s initiative to eliminate unauthorised construction, resulted in the demolition of nine DPCs and various road structures built illegally in the area.

Deputy Commissioner Mahavir Kaushik said that no illegal construction would not be allowed in the district. He urged residents not to engage in illegal construction on government land.

He said the department concerned has been collecting information on such constructions and efforts to remove them will continue in the future.

The DTP advised the public not to fall prey to property dealers offering plots in illegal colonies. He urged people to refrain from constructing on unauthorised land, particularly in green belts, controlled areas and scheduled roads, and to always seek proper departmental approval before engaging in any legal construction.
