Illicit liquor worth Rs 1L seized, three nabbed

The police have recovered illicit liquor worth Rs 1 lakh from three different cases in the district in the past 24 hours.

A police official said 29 cartons of country-made liquor were recovered from a car near the Ujjina drain in the district last night. The car was intercepted by the police on the basis of inputs.

The person arrested by the police was identified as Bhupender, a resident of Biduki village. He was found to be involved in some cases pertaining to loot, assault, possessing illegal weapons and smuggling liquor in the past.

The accused was been remanded on judicial custody. The police arrested two more persons, identified as Monu and Jaswant, for possessing several bottles of illicit liquor during the search. Cases were registered in the connection, according to the police.
