Local workers and leaders of the BJP staged a demonstration and burnt effigies of former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at Mahavir Chowk in Narnaul town here on Tuesday for his ‘controversial’ remarks against the Haryana Government that it is mixing poison in the Yamuna.
Addressing the protesters, former minister and senior BJP leader Ram Bilas Sharma said Kejriwal’s illogical remarks against the BJP government could harm the bonhomie between Delhi and Haryana. His remark had not only angered the BJP workers but also the general public of Haryana, he said.
“A large number of Haryana’s people reside in Delhi. Making such inflammatory remarks is like disrespecting these Haryanvis who will give Kejriwal a befitting reply by voting against him in the Assembly elections. People of Haryana value their self-respect, and when it is insulted, they take action,” Sharma added.
