In Brief: 12-yr-old’s body found on tracks

Karnal: The body of a 12-year-old girl was found on railway tracks near the Ghogripur crossing on the outskirts of the city. The deceased was a resident of Chand Sarari in the city, who had gone missing on Sunday evening. DSP Nayab Singh and the SHO, Government Railway Police, along with forensic experts, visited the spot. The police suspect it to be a murder case as a a cloth was tied around her neck. The body has been sent for a post-mortem. The police have launched an investigation. TNS

Sanitation firm fined ~50,000

Sonepat: The Commissioner, Municipal Corporation (MC), Sonepat, on Monday imposed a fine of ~50,000 upon a private company entrusted with the work to cleanl the city. After receiving complaints, Vishram Kumar Meena, MC Commissioner, on Monday carried out an inspection. He found anomalies in the work in the city. He also found heaps of garbage near Fazilpur village area. TNS
