In Karnal, 82 dairy plot holders yet to begin construction at dairy complex

As many as 82 dairy owners, who have purchased dairy plots at Pingli Dairy Complex, are yet to shift their dairies to the complex, following which the Karnal Municipal Corporation (KMC) has issued notices to these dairy owners. The KMC has told them to start construction on their plots, failing which their allotment and security deposits will be forfeited.

At present, the Pingli Dairy Complex has 231 plots, of which 144 have been allotted. So far, 50 dairies have shifted from the city to the complex, while construction of five more dairies has been completed and they are set to relocate soon. Another 30 plots have reached the DPC stage.

As per the record, despite repeated notices, many of these plot holders have neither bagun construction nor cleared their instalments. Of the 82, nearly 30 have only completed the damp proof course (DPC) stage. The MC has given the last chance, said Abhe Singh, Deputy Municipal Commissioner .

“This is their last chance, if they fail to act, the corporation will cancel the allotment, seize the security amount, and even seal their city-based dairies by taking their livestocks into custody,” the DMC added.

Besides, the MC is also preparing for the fourth draw of lots for dairy plot allotments in the complex. “If the current defaulters fail to build their buildings, their seized plots will be re-allotted through this draw to other eligible dairy owners. Nearly 70 applications have already been received for the 94 vacant plots. The verification of the dairies and livestock numbers of the applicants is going on to ensure proper plot allocation—250 sq yards for 5–15 animals, 355 sq yards for 16–26 animals, and 500 sq yards for 27–50 animals,” said the Deputy Municipal Commissioner.
