Adopting a zero tolerance policy against stubble burning, the district administration has warned farmers of registering FIRs against them if they are found burning paddy residue.

In Kurukshetra, 31 villages have been kept in the red zone while 108 villages have been kept in the orange zone.

DC Sharandeep Kaur said, “Officials of the Agriculture Department, Patwari and gram sachivs have been asked to keep a watch on paddy straw burning and take action. Reports of fire incidents have been received from Haryana Space Applications Centre.” — TNS
