In Panipat, 75 booked for use of foul language

Panipat, June 16

In all, 75 farmers, including BKU (Charuni) district chief Sudhir Jakhar, have been booked for allegedly using derogatory language against public representatives in a video viral on social media.

SI Satbir Singh, in his complaint to the Israna police, said some public representatives were scheduled to attend the inauguration of a textile mill near Brahman Majra village of the district on June 13.

However, Sudhir Jakhar, in a video released on social media, warned of dire consequences if any public representative come to attend the programme. Sudhir along with Satywan Narwal, Ram Singh, Harender, Ajmer, Pradeep and over 70 persons also reached the venue and protested there.

Public representatives had to cancel the event to maintain law and order.

Following his complaint, the police have registered a case against the BKU activists under Sections 153 (provocation with intent to cause riot), 294, 505 (statement conducted to public mischief), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and Section 66, IT Act. tns
