Three suicides in the last two days have been committed in the state by people who learnt about their own or their family member’s Covid positive status. Sonu, a 22-year-old youth from Shahjahanpur village of Faridabad, today committed suicide in the district jail after he was informed about his Covid positive status. The police had arrested him in connection with a clash between two groups on June 10. He was in judicial custody when he was informed he was Covid positive.

Only yesterday, a private company manager (45) in Gurugram had jumped to death from his 4th floor apartment after his wife tested positive for Covid and he feared that he and his son too could be infected. — TNS
