According to Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal, around 650 police personnel will be deployed for the peaceful conduct of the Common Eligibility Test (CET), to be held across 47 centres in Yamunanagar district on July 26 and July 27. A total of 45,062 candidates will appear for the examination — 22,636 on July 26; and 22,426 on July 27.
District Magistrate Parth Gupta has issued an order under Section 163 of the BNSS for the smooth conduct of the examination. All coaching centres and photocopy shops located within 100 m of the centres will remain closed on the dates of the exam.
DC Parth Gupta, SP Kamaldeep Goyal and ADC Naveen Ahuja on Thursday inspected parking spaces earmarked for buses bringing candidates from Karnal, Panchkula and Chandigarh to Yamunanagar.
Candidates would be transported from these parking spaces to their examination centres through local feeder buses.
For candidates coming a day before the exam, arrangements have been made at six places — community centres and dharamshalas. Two of these have been reserved for women candidates.
Help desks will be set up at five locations, and a control room has been set up for the examination. Candidates can contact the control room on 01732-237801.
The administration had also arranged vehicles for physically challenged candidates.
The SP said the police administration was fully prepared to conduct the examination peacefully.
