Former chairman of the Haryana Swatantrata Sainani Samman Samiti and Indian National Army (INA) veteran, Ch Lalti Ram, passed away at his house in Dubaldhan village here on Sunday.

He was 100-year-old.

Beri BDPO Ram Karan Sharma and DSP Rahul Dev attended the last rites and paid tributes to the departed soul on behalf of the district administration.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his condolences through his tweeter handler. “Saddened by the demise of INA veteran Lalti Ram ji. His courage and contribution to India’s freedom struggle will never be forgotten. I recall my interactions with him. Greats like him have left an indelible mark on India’s history.”

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and BJP state president OP Dhankar also expressed their grief over the demise of Lalti Ram.
