CM Manohar Lal Khattar today said the higher education department should take steps to inculcate the spirit of social service and environmental protection in students.
“In future, such provisions will be made so that the credit of works related to cleanliness, tree planting and government schemes are given to colleges and universities,” he said, adding: “This will help create awareness on social issues among students.”
Khattar held a meeting with Additional Deputy Commissioners across the state at Haryana Niwas on Tuesday. During this, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister V Umashankar and all Deputy Commissioners were connected virtually.
He told the Deputy Commissioners to get maximum registration done on “Samarpan portal”. He said every district had a large number of retired employees and officers from the Army and government services. “Such people should be encouraged to register on the portal for contributing to social work. Deputy Commissioners should establish contact with these people,” he said.
Khattar said students had been selected under 134-A across the state. The DCs should complete the work of income verification after taking a list of these from the District Education Officers so that these students can get admission to schools.
