Independents hold roadshows day after suspension from BJP
A day after being suspended by the BJP, many Independent candidates went on to hold roadshows to exhibit their popularity in Gurugram. Taking the lead, Independent candidate from Ward 1, Sahab Ram, alias Leelu Sarpanch, held a massive rally, asking people to vote for work and hope.
“People want work and they have seen us work at grassroots level. It’s the people who made us contest and they will only make us win. We are reaching out to everybody with a promise of reviving lost civic glory of Gurugram,” said Leelu while addressing the roadshow. Other than Leelu Rakesh Yadav from Ward 5, Sunita Sharma from Ward 12, and Dinesh Bhardwaj from Ward 17, took to the streets to hold roadshows, rallying supporters and highlighting key local issues. The Ward 5 candidate, Rakesh Yadav, who was a former municipal worker, has been seeking votes, promising sanitation and better roads. During his roadshow, he also urged people to shun political parties and choose Independents for their betterment. “Big parties come with big promises, but do nothing. For them, this is all about politics. It’s people like us who truly understand the problems, work for public welfare and deserve to be public representatives,” he said.
Sunita Sharma, contesting independently from Ward 12, also took out a massive rally, primarily attended by women and senior citizens.
