  • The Indian National Lok Dal spokesperson Mahavir Sharma accuses state government of making no efforts to drain rainwater from fields or assess crop losses.
  • Sharma also claimed that private dealers were selling DAP fertiliser at Rs 1,700 per bag, instead of the official price of Rs 1,350, with the alleged support of officials.

District spokesperson Mahavir Sharma said the protest would be led by Dabwali MLA Aditya Devi Lal and district president Jasbir Singh Jassa. During the demonstration, INLD leaders will submit a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner.

Sharma said rainwater from recent downpours was still flooding farms in several villages, but the government had made no effort to drain it or assess crop losses for compensation. He alleged that the BJP-led state government had failed to buy crops at the minimum support price (MSP), forcing the farmers to sell produce to private buyers at low rates.

Sharma also claimed that private dealers were selling DAP fertiliser at Rs 1,700 per bag, instead of the official price of Rs 1,350, with the alleged support of Agriculture Department officials. He warned that if the government failed to act after the memorandum was submitted, the INLD would intensify its agitation and take to the streets.
