Inspector Rajesh Kumar, currently posted in Sirsa district and formerly posted as SHO at Siwan, Kaithal, appeared before the Special Court on Thursday only after a non-bailable warrant was issued against him.

As per the order passed by Additional Sessions Judge Mohit Aggarwal, Kumar had earlier ignored court summons and even a previous NBW. On August 29, the court had directed attachment of his salary and ordered that he be produced in custody if arrested before the next hearing.

“As this court is busy in recording evidence in some other cases, Inspector Rajesh Kumar be kept in custody and be produced before the court at 11.30 am so that his evidence is recorded in this case,” the order stated.

The SHO was subsequently kept in custody for an hour before being presented for his testimony.
