Interest of every class and sector taken care of in Budget, claims Dhankar
BJP national secretary and former Agriculture Minister Om Prakash Dhankar while launching a scathing attack on the Congress, said that instead of making illogical statements, the Congress leaders should carefully first study the economic figures presented in the Budget and witness the ongoing development work under the state’s “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”. This would clear their confusion.
Dhankar was interacting with mediapersons in Bahadurgarh town here on Friday. He claimed that the interest of every class and sector had been taken care of in the Budget. Provisions had been made for the welfare of women, farmers, youth, ex-servicemen, and those in need. He also emphasised that since the future was in technology, provisions had been made in the Budget for Artificial Intelligence as well.
The former minister, who was also in charge of the BJP's manifesto, stated that the BJP did what it promised. “People trust PM Narendra Modi and that out of the 217 promises made in the manifesto, more than half will be fulfilled in the first year itself. Ninteen promises have already been fulfilled, 14 are under way and budgetary provisions have been made for 90 other promises,” he added.
In reply to a question, Dhankar said a strict law was being enacted to take action against those selling fake pesticides and seeds. The law proposes a penalty of Rs 5 lakh and imprisonment for up to three years. He also highlighted that the Budget focused on various sectors, including sports, agriculture, women, youth, education, healthcare, infrastructure development, and welfare of the poor. Providing homes to the poor remained the government's top priority.
Dhankhar emphasised that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, being the son of a farmer, understood the needs of the farmers and was addressing these effectively. “The CM has encouraged organic farming to enhance farmers' incomes and has set a target to increase organic farming from 25,000 acres to 1 lakh acres. The farmers practicing organic farming will also receive benefits under the subsidy scheme,” he added.
