The five-day seventh Haryana International Film Festival started at Kurukshetra University on Wednesday.

The film festival is being organised by the Department of Youth and Cultural Affairs, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, in collaboration with the Sanskriti Society for Arts and Cultural Development from August 7 to 11.

Mahabharata famed Rupa Ganguly, Chandrakanta famed Akhilendra Mishra and veteran actor Munmun Sen attended the event.

Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Kurukshetra University Prof Som Nath Sachdeva said during the five-day long film festival, 75 internationally acclaimed films in 19 languages from 16 countries would be screened. The festival will prove to be a boon for students as they will get an opportunity to meet people associated with the film industry of the country and abroad and get technical information about filmmaking and will also learn the nuances of acting.
