Introspect, don't celebrate: Bhupinder Hooda to Haryana govt

Referring to the denial of MSP to farmers and the spiralling crime, with the police losing morale following the suicides by two cops, Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda today urged the BJP government to introspect rather than celebrate its one-year term.

Interacting with the media, he claimed that the list of the government's failures was very long.

“Haryana farmers are forced to wander from pillar to post in the markets because government agencies are refusing to purchase paddy, citing moisture and black grains as excuses. The farmers' crops are being sold at Rs 400-Rs 500 per quintal below MSP,” he alleged.

"During elections, the BJP promised to pay Rs 3,100 per quintal for paddy, and purchase of crops at MSP, but the government is unable to provide farmers with MSP, fertilisers, or timely compensation," he said.

Referring to his visit to the mandis, he said chaos and corruption were rampant. “Farmers are facing severe difficulties in obtaining gate passes, space, and payment. No compensation has yet been provided for crop losses caused by heavy rains last year and this year,” he said.

Hooda said at a time when farmers, youth, employees, and businessmen were suffering, and unemployment and corruption were rampant, celebrating the BJP government was a joke. Meanwhile, Pradeep Saini, district patron of All India Saini Samaj Seva Mandal and a senior BJP leader, joined the Congress.
