Iron frames installed at unauthorised places in Narnaul, 24 issued notices

The authorities of the Narnaul Municipal Council have put 24 persons on notice for installing their iron and steel advertising frames at unauthorised places and pasting posters and other publicity materials on government properties in Narnaul city.

Deepak Goyal, Executive Officer of the council, said they had recently conducted a survey across the city. During the survey, it was found that many individuals were placing iron and steel advertising frames at commercial sites and promoting themselves or others through banners. This activity violated the Haryana Advertisement Rules, 2022.

He further stated that 15 individuals were given a seven-day notice to remove these illegal frames. If the frames were not removed within the specified time, the council would take appropriate action in accordance with the Haryana Advertisement Rules, 2022.

“Additionally, for those who have installed unipole or iron frames on the government land or have placed banners on government poles and walls, a 14-day notice has been served under the Haryana Defacement of Property Act, 1989. These nine individuals have been told to remove these illegal advertising structures at their own cost. Failure to comply will result in legal action, which can include up to six months of imprisonment, a fine of Rs 10,000, or both,” he added.

Goyal pointed out that the installation of iron and steel advertising frames on commercial properties (shops, hotels, etc.) and the installing of banners for advertisement purposes, whether by individuals or on behalf of others, was illegal within the Municipal Council area. Similarly, placing advertising structures such as unipoles or iron frames on government property, roads, or on public pillars and walls was also against the regulations. Violators could face penalties or legal action, he said.
