Gurugram, February 20
A Japanese delegation from NEC, a multinational IT and electronics corporation, visited the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) established within the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) office on Tuesday.
The delegation gathered insights into various functions operating from the ICCC such as city surveillance, traffic monitoring and management, grievance handling, face recognition, among other technology-based initiatives undertaken by the ICCC.
They were also told about GMD’s future plans for technology expansion in the area of surveillance and traffic control. It is planning to set up infrastructure to develop a data lake, in which it will integrate various database of the Police Department and sources of information, including social media to generate quick response using AI.
GMDA has installed 1,200 cameras at 218 junctions in Gurugram and Manesar areas in the first phase of its CCTV project. In the second phase, 2,722 CCTV cameras would be installed at 258 locations.
