JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, has been honoured with the prestigious "World Peace Education Promotion Award" at the 20th World Peace Congress. The award was presented to the university in recognition of its contributions towards fostering peace and harmony through education.
A spokesperson from the university stated the award was conferred at an event recently organised by the International Association of Educators for World Peace (IAEWP) in collaboration with the Global Peace Foundation (GPF-India), the Indian Institute of Ecology and Environment (IIEE) and other institutions. The ceremony took place at the India International Centre in New Delhi, where the university was one of only five selected from a pool of over 1,400 global institutions to receive the honour.
Professor Sushil Kumar Tomar, Vice-Chancellor of JC Bose University, accepted the award on behalf of the institution. The panel of judges included prominent figures such as Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh, Governor of Uttarakhand and Dr Priyaranjan Trivedi, President of IAEWP.
Professor Tomar said the university has introduced innovative courses aimed at promoting communal harmony, social work and human values. These initiatives have been incorporated into the academic curriculum to create a positive and inclusive environment for both students and faculty.
