Jewellery showroom employee fired at

Karnal, March 6

Panic gripped traders in Nehru Place market when a firing incident took place outside a reputed jewellery showroom, OPS Jewellers, on Friday evening.

The traders alleged that three miscreants opened fire at an employee of the showroom while the police said it was a case of manhandling of an employee. The traders said three miscreants came in a car and started firing outside the showroom at an employee. They escaped when the guard fired in retaliation.

Showroom owner Kailash Gupta said he was out of the city and came to know about the incident.

Later, SP Surinder Singh Bhoria, DSP (HQ) Virender Saini and DSP City Rajiv Kumar rushed to the spot. They spoke with the shopkeepers and pacified them. The police also took the CCTV footage into possession.

Virender Saini, DSP, said they were inquiring the incident from all angles. The CCTV footage revealed that it was an attack on a showroom employee.
