Two girls from Jhajjar district have been named among the four top-scorers of the Haryana board Class X exams, each securing 497 marks in the matriculation examination, the results of which were declared by the Board of School Education on Saturday.
Roma and Taniya, both students of CR Senior Secondary School in Majra Dubaldhan village, come from humble backgrounds.
Roma’s father, Krishan Kumar, is a farmer, while Taniya’s father, Beer Singh, runs a small grocery shop.
As the news of their achievement spread, celebrations erupted on the school campus.
Classmates offered sweets and lifted the girls on their shoulders in jubilation.
Both girls expressed their happiness and credited their success to their parents and teachers, and their dedication.
Another student from the same school, Ishu from Siwana village, also brought laurels to the district, scoring 495 marks.
