The Ambala police have arrested a man and recovered around 5,400 liquor bottles from his possession.

The accused has been identified as Ashish, a resident of Jind. He was produced before a court today which sent him to a three-day police remand.

An Ambala police spokesman said, “Following a tip-off that a truck carrying a huge quantity of liquor is on its way from Punjab, a check-post was set up near Kalu Majra area and the truck was stopped. During the checking, 450 boxes (5,400 bottles) of liquor were recovered. The liquor was being smuggled in a truck loaded with paddy husk.
