JJP fields Praveen Turkia for chairperson’s post in Sirsa
The Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) declared its candidate for the position of chairperson of the Sirsa Municipal Council on Friday.
The party has chosen Praveen Kumar Turkia, also known as Lucky Chaudhary, who will now file his nomination. The announcement was made with the approval of the party’s national president, Ajay Chautala.
Amar Singh Jyani, former JJP spokesperson, said Turkia had served the JJP from its inception, holding various positions within the party.
Recently, Turkia was named the senior vice-president of the Haryana Jannayak Karmchari Mazdoor Sangh.
Jyani said Turkia would be submitting his nomination on February 17.
The party has also decided that it will not contest the councillor elections under its symbol, choosing to use the symbol of a key instead. The party has said it will provide full support to any party member running for the position.
