Less than 24 hours after a delegation of traders from across the state met CM Nayab Singh Saini expressing concern over the incidents of attacks on traders and extortion bids, JJP leader and businessman Ravinder Saini, 50, was gunned down by three armed assailants in Hansi town of Hisar district on Wednesday evening. In all, there were four assailants. One of them was waiting on the motorcycle and three approached Saini and shot him.

All the assailants arrived on one motorcycle. Saini was shot dead while he was reportedly standing outside the showroom located on the Hisar road. He was shot 3-4 times from a point-blank range. The assailants fled from the spot on the same motorcycle.

Sources said the JJP leader could have been targeted by criminals who had demanded extortion money. He also got threat to his life about a year ago. Notably, three traders of Hisar town had recently received threats from miscreants.

On June 24, three youths had fired about 30 bullets on the facade of a Mahindra showroom in Hisar. Two other traders were sent audio clips by the persons, who identified themselves as gangsters and demanded Rs 2 crore from each of the traders.
