Job fair at YMCA University
The one-day mega job fair held at JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, on Saturday saw participation of 70 companies and over 1,250 graduates. The event was organised with the support of the Divisional Employment Office, Faridabad, along with various private organisations.
The fair received an overwhelming response, with over 700 students registering for potential career opportunities, according to a university spokesperson. The participating companies offered annual salary packages ranging from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 10 lakh to various candidates. Haryana’s Minister of State for Youth Empowerment, Entrepreneurship, and Sports Gaurav Gautam, along with Vice Chancellor Professor Sushil Kumar Tomar and Registrar Rajiv Kumar Singh, were present at the event.
The Vice Chancellor emphasised the transformative impact of such initiatives, stating that the job fair acted as a bridge between students’ academic achievements and the dynamic demands of the professional world. Tomar urged students to develop their entrepreneurial skills while also focusing on employment opportunities.
An official said the recruiters’ response was overwhelmingly positive, with 396 students graduating in 2024-25 already placed. However, this figure was slightly lower compared to last year’s placement figure of 697 students.
