Kaithal farmers observe fast in solidarity with Dallewal

Farmers, under the banner of Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU-Charuni), observed fast in Kaithal to express their solidarity with Punjab farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been observing fast for the past around 25 days at Khanauri border to press the demands of farmers.

Vikram Kasana, state president of BKU (Charuni), led the fast in a park outside Mini-Secretariat in Kaithal.

He emphasised the unity of farmers to press the demands of farmers including a law ensuring guarantee of procurement of crops on MSP.

“The health condition of Dallewal is serious. The Union Government should accept the demand of the protesting farmers by holding talks with them. They have been demanding the government to fulfil its promises made in December 2021. Legal guarantee of MSP on all crops is a major promise, but it was not fulfilled due to which the farmers feel betrayed,” said Kasana.
