Kaithal SDM checks nakas to curb inflow of paddy from outside district
First visits Kaul, Rasina and Rajound areas
To prevent the illegal inflow of paddy from other districts, Kaithal SDM Ajay Singh on Monday conducted a surprise inspection of checkpoints and a rice mill in the district. The purpose of the inspection was to ensure that only locally produced paddy is procured under the government’s purchase policy.
The SDM first visited the Kaul, Rasina and Rajound areas, where check-posts have been set up to monitor the movement of paddy trucks. During the inspection, he interacted with officials and staff deployed at the nakas and directed them to prevent the entry of paddy from outside the district.
“No paddy brought from other districts will be allowed to enter Kaithal under any circumstances. Only the produce of local farmers will be purchased as per the prescribed norms. Any negligence in this regard will invite strict legal action,” said SDM.
He checked a rice mill in Dhand, where he initiated physical verification of the stock and records. The objective of the verification was to ensure compliance with government procurement guidelines and proper storage procedures.
During the inspection, the SDM reviewed the stock register, purchase records, and overall functioning of the mill premises. He directed mill owners to strictly adhere to all government rules and warned that any irregularities would be dealt with firmly.
“Transparency and compliance are essential in the procurement process. Any attempt to mix or store paddy from outside the district will not be tolerated,” he added.
