Hooda said Kalayat would get “three MLAs” with one vote. “If people select Vikas Saharan as the MLA of Kalayat, they will get two more representatives — me and Jai Parkash. To ensure that the Kalayat Assembly segment gets weightage in the Haryana Government, elect Vikas with a big margin,” said Hooda.

‘Will stop migration of educated youth’

Yamunanagar: Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said the persistent migration of skilled/educated individuals and businessmen from Haryana was extremely worrisome. He said that stopping this trend would be the first priority of the Congress government in Haryana. Hooda was addressing a rally in Radaur town on Saturday in support of Bishan Lal Saini, Congress candidate from Radaur Assembly constituency. Hooda alleged that Haryana had become a ‘migration state’ under the BJP rule in the country. He said companies and businessmen were migrating from Haryana due to fear of ransom.

Hooda also launched a fresh attack on the BJP government and alleged that it had turned Haryana into a ‘migration state’. He assured the people that he would stop the migration of youth by providing job opportunities in Haryana.

“The BJP has made Haryana a ‘migration state’ as youth, companies, businessmen are migrating out of the state. The companies and businessmen are migrating from Haryana due to the fear of ransom calls, the youth are migrating to other states and abroad due to lack of employment. The farmers are leaving farming due to lack of respect. The youth are unhappy with the Agniveer scheme,” said Hooda.

Hooda said the continuous exodus of talent and opportunities from Haryana was very distressing and promised to stop it. “To stop such an exodus will be the first priority of the Congress. Our government will ensure that crime, drug addiction, unemployment, inflation and dictatorship are shown the door and the state becomes Number 1 in the country in terms of development and prosperity,” said Hooda.

Hooda also mentioned the problems of paddy farmers, and said that during the Congress tenure, paddy procurement would start from September 15, whereas the BJP kept giving dates to the farmers every time.

He also highlighted the plight of paddy farmers and said, “Paddy has started arriving in the markets since September 15, but first the government had said that procurement would start on September 15, then September 23 and later it was extended to October 1. After the farmers’ protest, procurement was announced for September 27, but so far, no agency has started work in the markets. Due to the lack of government procurement, the farmers are forced to sell their paddy at Rs 500 below the minimum support price (MSP) announced by the government,” said Hooda.

Speaking at the rally, Congress Hisar MP Jaiprakash said the Congress had released a manifesto which fulfilled the expectations of every section. “The Congress government is going to give Rs 6,000 pension to the elderly, Rs 2,000 per month to each woman, an old-pension scheme will be implemented for employees and two lakh permanent jobs to the youth. The Congress also promises to remove backwardness of Kalayat,” he added.
