At a time when the Kanwar Yatra has been banned in the wake of Covid, the district administration with the help of the Haridwar administration has arranged the holy Gangajal for devotees of Lord Shiva in view of forthcoming Shivratri.

Devotees can take Gangajal between 9 am and 5 pm from Panchayat Bhawan, for which a team of the Bal Kalyan Parishad has been assigned. The devotees have to get themselves registered on the spot and they will be given 200 ml of Gangajal.

“In a meeting with district officials of Haridwar recently, it was decided that a tanker filled with Gangajal would be given to Karnal. More tankers would be given if need arises,” said Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav.

“We received one tanker of Gangajal today and started distributing it. The devotees have to bring their utensils for carrying the Gangajal,” further said the Deputy Commissioner.
